C Rayz Walz Drops Jewels

When C Rayz talks, I listen. This is taken from his latest blog entry book of life.

“In order to win, you must develop anInvincible spirit.

It is one thing to feel confident and feel happy when your health is good, your bills are paid, and your relationships are solid. However, to have the same feeling of purpose and Invincibility when you are facing obstacles or turmoil is entirely a different matter.

First, you must realize you do have the capacity to deal with adversity. It is simply a matter of tapping into the positive energy that surrounds you, rather than letting negative energy overcome you.

Next, you must realize that negative energy is both produced by circumstances and by people. Just like bad luck or (Karma) is negatively charged, there are negatively charged people, and sometimes in order to move closer to your dreams you have to eliminate these people from your life.

Negatively charged people are easy to spot, they allow events to control their lives. Positively charged people, on the other hand, remain in control of their lives no matter what life throws at them. Negatively charged people are the ones who always tell you & others what you can’t do, and discourage you from even trying. Positively
charged people help you get the things you want and encourage you to get them.

However, if you truly want to develop an
Invincible Spirit, you must make sure you are positively charged yourself!

Good things happen to positively charged people. Positively charged people see opportunities where others see only problems. Like water, they find a way around any obstacle in their path.

Remember, the biggest difference between positively charged people and negatively charged people is…positively charged people believe they can, and negatively charged people know they can’t.

This Balance is Perfect for the doers and the don’ters we need both for the partnership of Life and Death.

I will write more blogs and many more Jewels in the upcoming months.

Aloe Blacc performing “Are You Ready”

Consider this the first exclusive WhatUpThough video. The quality isn’t the best, but I got the camera right before the show started so I didn’t really have a feel for it. Regardless, Aloe put on a great show. The song featured above, “Are You Ready,” is off his latest album Shine Through, which if you didn’t already know is an amazing album. I’ve written so much about the album already I’m at a lost right now, but read this interview I did with Aloe in anticipation of the album and you get a feel for what it’s about.

For more check AloeBlacc.com or his Myspace, and most importantly listen to his music because he’s got a lot to share with the world.

Props to his backing band The Grand Scheme as well, they did their thing.

Real Life Stories From A Substitute Teacher Pt. 1

When I was in High School, the last place I wanted to be during lunch was a classroom. From what I understood it was where over achievers held their stress orgies. Apparently, that’s not the case anymore.

I want to preface this story by saying, I love when kids come to class high. I make sure to look them in the eyes, and dispel any questions in their head whether I “know” or not. That said, I was joined at lunch today by a young man who was blown out of his mind. I’m not sure why he came to a classroom, but nonetheless, I was blessed with some decent conversation.

Sick-Wid-It Umbrella

One thing is for sure, this album will have hella mahfucking rappers on it.

Looking at it though I gotta ask, what the fuck is B-Legit doing in the very back? The Sick-Wid-It I grew up on was just as much 40 as it was Legit, and now he’s a photoshopped blip in the shadows. It’d be one thing if he fell off, but his last couple of albums were knocking…and he don’t make call and response dance songs catered for kids. Just sayin. On the bright side, Nump is in the front row.

Album drops April 15th.

I’ve come to grips that I’m too old understand the appeal of thugged out interpretations of classic cartoon characters.

Lil Zane is still rapping?

That shit was never hot.

Speaking of, I wish the Clipse would just stick to rapping.

What the fuck would make you think that shrink wrapping a slim case CD-R is a good idea? I wouldn’t listen to your mixtape anyway, but now I think you’re even more retarded.

Wu-Tang Latino has nothing on Thizz Latin. The fact that they couldn’t come up with a more creative or original album title than La Familia doesn’t say much for lyrical abilities. And yo, Dom Pachino couldn’t even get on a song???

Speaking of Dom, Champagne is the only alcohol I really don’t like…Not to say I won’t don’t drink it all day from time to time, but if they had a bottomless Jameson Brunch I would much rather get lit that way.

And speaking of being drunk, I kept saying to myself I need to do more drunk blogging…and then I wrote that Little Brother joint below and sounded like a putz. But it made me listen to Getback a lot; that album is under appreciated.

Thanks to Serato, my local record stores have been flooded with tons of gems from the 90′s for a dollar. As I walk out that much more broke and emotionally attached to more stuff, I start thinking that I really need to start preparing myself for when it will really go down and buy some guns.

Coming soon: Real Life Stories of Substitute Teacher.
